In 2025, we will continue the 156-year-old tradition of our Song Festival, and choirs and orchestras from Estonia and beyond will gather for the 28th general song festival. Traditionally, there are two concerts at the general song festival: the opening concert, which follows the procession, and the Sunday grand concert.
The grand concert will begin on Sunday, July 6 at 14:00, with our youngest participants – the children's choirs. Following them, the stage will be taken by children's choirs, boys' and men's choirs, women's choirs, mixed choirs, as well as brass and symphony orchestras. A total of 40 different pieces will be performed, including both familiar favorites and a lot of new compositions.
The approximately seven-hour-long grand concert will conclude with the combined choirs performing traditional pieces: Miina Härma’s “Tuljak,” Peep Sarapik’s “Ta lendab mesipuu poole,” and Gustav Ernesaks’ “Mu isamaa on minu arm.”
Entry to the Song Festival Grounds will open on Sunday, July 6 at 12:30.
To ensure our Song and Dance Festival is as environmentally sustainable as possible, we would appreciate it if you follow our environmental tips and recommendations as you approach the festival. Big changes start with small actions.
And one more thing: the Song Festival concert is primarily a concert. It has been said that at the moment when the performance on stage captivates the audience, the boundary disappears, and performers and the audience become one. For the sake of these moments, we ask that you refrain from moving around in the audience area during the performance. This can disturb other listeners.
The Song Festival will take place traditionally at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. When coming to the event, please make sure to allow plenty of time – traffic will be disrupted and there will be many participants. If possible, come by bicycle or public transport. Parking spots near the grounds are extremely limited. We recommend following the organizers' announcements and recommendations for participants on the website laulupidu.ee!
The event will be filmed, photographed, recorded, and streamed live.
