Jose Carreras

On the 28th of June the king of opera - Jose Carreras will perform at The Tallinn Song Festival Grounds.

The legend of classical music, arriving in Estonia especially for the concert at the Song Festival Grounds, will be performing his most famous pieces from well-known operas.

This one of the Three Tenors has performed with all of the most well-known opera singers and conductors during his astonishing career.

Jose Carreras has conquered the most famous stages in the world, including La Scala, Metropolitan Opera and Covent Garden.

The Spanish-born Jose Carreras’ path to the stage is one of the most seamless, successful and stellar in the music world. The singer exhibited a noteworthy talent as yearly as at six years of age when he first heard Mario Lanza in The Great Caruso and decided to choose a musician’s career.

Carreras graduated from the Barcelona Conservatory and the true mentor of his career is Monserrat Caballe. It was his performance as the world-famous soprano’s stage partner that opened the biggest stages for Carreras in the 1970s.

The stage career of the owner of the Best Performer of the Works of Verdi and Puccini title continued on an upward course in the 1980s.

The Three Tenors project established in collaboration with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti launched classical music into the wider audience.

This one of the most recognized voices on the planet has promised to only perform the crème de la crème of his repertoire at his Estonian concert. Among other hits, the concert will feature O Sole Mio, Ave Maria and Andaluza.

A special “weekend price” will apply to the event as the concert is held as part of the Classics under Sky festival featuring another famous performer - Sir Elton John - on June 29.
